NANUK Providing carrying and transport solutions to professionals, technicians, and sportsmen around the world for over 20 years.
Plasticase as the manufacture of NANUK protective cases initially started manufacturing plastic cases in 1984 under the name of Resentel Ltd. A few years later, after the company’s ownership was restructured, Plasticase emerged with a clearer mission: design, engineer, and manufacture the highest quality injection molded plastic cases in the world.
By initially establishing a parallel with the success and trend that had been created by Swatch (a brand of plastic watches made in Switzerland), our first product initiative made its debut as a fashion accessory and was sold as a cool “must-have” case for students and young adults through upscale department stores, trendy design shops, and fashion accessory boutiques.
Why NANUK is called the world’s best protective case? It’s one thing to make the claim that NANUK protective cases are built tough. It’s another to actually show how. The following tests were performed by an independent lab. After rigorous analysis, CERTIFICATION was awarded to all NANUK cases in each product line, such as :
IPX7 INGRESS PROTECTION WATERPROOF
NANUK cases can be submerged in up to 1 m of water for a period of 30 minutes without leakage or damage of any sort.
IP6X INGRESS PROTECTION DUSTPROOF
NANUK cases demonstrate 100% protection against dust. Nothing gets in.
ATA SPECIFICATION 300 CATEGORY 1 IMPACT
NANUK cases are suitable for a minimum of 100 airline trips. NANUK also stands up to heavy impacts. No damage occurs when a 6 kg dart falls on to the case’s weakest point from a height of 0.5 m.
ASTM D-4169 DC-18DROP TEST
For the drop test, weights ranging from 6.8 to 31.8 kg fall on to the case from a height of no less than 48 cm. Drop weight is determined by case size.
ASTM D-4169 DC-18VIBRATION
This evaluation determines NANUK’s ability to withstand repetitive shocks that can occur during loose-loaded transportation. NANUK stands up to this extreme test of vibration resistance.
ASTM D-4169 DC-18RAINFALL
Simulated rainfall lasts 20-minutes per case side at a rate of 10 cm/hr. During a second test, rain falls at a rate of 10 cm/hr while the case is heated 18 degrees F higher than the water’s temperature. The second test lasts 4 hours. No water finds its way in.
The case is submerged in a basin of water 1 m deep for 1 hour. For this test, the case is heated to 40 degrees F higher than the water’s temperature. Again, NANUK easily withstands these extreme conditions.

"The well-designed clips, handles, and shoulder straps are the best on the market. And, let’s not forget the sexy colours. After dropping a 905 from a 25-foot rock face and getting pounded by 3-foot waves on my paddle board, Imust to say that my Nanuk cases have saved a lot of my gear." -ALAIN DENIS- FREELANCE ADVENTURES PHOTOGRAPHER
"my job is a lot about logistics … complicated logistics. Getting all of the gear we need for a shoot to the remote corners of the world can mean anything from shaky domestic flights in Nepal to 17-hour canoe ridesdown the Amazon. No matter where we go, I want the equipment to arrive safely. That’s why I rely on Nanuk. These cases are just what I need—robust, trustworthy, and lightweight companions. No matter where the road may takes me, I know they will get my gear there safely." -MARTIN EDSTRÖM- NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC EXPLORER
